Description
The Gallagher BA40 brings powerful performance to your mobile fence and is designed for up to 6 km of electric fencing or approximately 2 hectares under ideal conditions. Under normal conditions, it is suitable for fences up to 1.5 km. With a charging energy of 0.4 joules (0.27 J pulse) and a maximum output voltage of 9600 volts, it keeps horses, cattle, sheep, goats and hobby animals safely in their paddock.
Two modes for power or battery saving
The BA40 features two modes: a mode for maximum power (mode 1) and a smart saving mode (mode 2), where one full pulse is followed by three half-strength pulses. This saving mode can be used for animals that are trained and respect the fence. A 9V battery of 175 Ah then lasts up to 160 days and the average consumption drops to about 43 mA.
Clear LED indicator and quick installation
A green LED flashes with each pulse so you can immediately see that there is power on the fence. When the LED flashes red, you know it’s time to replace the 9V battery (this does not work for 12V batteries). One 1.0 m earth stake is sufficient for installation. The included cable set for connection to the fence snaps in seconds, then you immediately have voltage on the wire.
Weatherproof and easy to move
For field use, the BA40 features an IPX4 splash-proof housing, built-in lightning protection and a robust carrying handle. Weighing only 1.6 kg, you can easily move the device from field to field—ideal for paddocks where mains power is not available. The choice between a disposable 9V battery or rechargeable 12V battery gives you complete freedom. If you want to use the BA40 with a 12V battery, you must purchase a separate cable set (005499).
