Description
The TurboStar animal net is a 125 cm high sheep net designed to keep large game at bay. This 50-metre-long net was developed by the experts at Gallagher, who have worldwide experience in repelling wild animals, in collaboration with the German company Euronetz. The result is a net that excels in visibility, stability and conduction, exactly what you need to keep game away.
The ultimate sheep net against game
The blue net with white posts is highly visible to wild animals. The 10 horizontal wires ensure maximum effectiveness. Thanks to six 0.25 mm copper conductors, the net has excellent current conductivity of only 0.05 ohms per metre. There are also 40 stainless steel conductors distributed throughout the net. This makes it 14 times more conductive than a standard animal net, resulting in less power loss and higher voltage, especially when connecting multiple nets. The construction is practically designed with extra rigid posts with double stainless steel pins for maximum stability and minimal deflection. Vertical reinforcements prevent the net from sagging between the posts, ensuring it remains at the correct height.
Developed from practical experience
The posts in the net are 3 cm higher than the net itself. This is because, in practice, the vertical reinforcements will rest on the grass, while the posts are pressed down to the ground. This extra length compensates for this difference and ensures that the top wire will run straighter. The top wire is reinforced and extra conductive. The bottom wire is also reinforced and equipped with conductors. This bottom wire can be used as an additional grounding option in dry or stony soil with a clip. However, never connect this wire to a positive wire. A clever detail is the variable connection option of the second wire from the ground. In taller grass, this wire can be connected to the negative (earth) to prevent power loss and slightly increase the effectiveness of the lower wires. Are you placing the net in lower grass? Then we recommend connecting the second wire to the third wire with the metal clip, thus turning it into a positive wire. All wires from the third wire onwards are positive wires. After rolling up, the net can be tied together with the three Velcro fasteners supplied, so that it remains compact during transport or storage. A repair kit is supplied as standard for minor repairs.
Extra protection and safety
In areas with high wildlife pressure or where horned animals such as roe deer or deer are present, Gallagher recommends combining the net with an outdoor fence with at least two wires. This extra barrier keeps wolves at bay and reduces the chance of horned animals becoming entangled in the rack. For increased effectiveness, the net can also be combined with FoxLights.
